# Parties

By default, the Sea of Steves experience is every sailor for themselves! However, you are more than welcome to use external plugins to assign crews or let players create their own. We recommend the [Parties](https://github.com/AlessioDP/Parties) plugin for a straightforward setup, but [mcMMO](https://github.com/mcMMO-Dev/mcMMO) is another excellent choice which adds skills and XP events. There are a slew of "[Factions](https://browsit.org/search.php?input=factions)" plugins which also allow members to claim land, adding an even more competitive nature to gameplay!

Be advised that parties will not automatically disband upon world reset, so if that's something you desire it'll be up to you to work out the details.
