# Combat

All pirates are equipped with the same set of tools, ensuring a fair PvP (and PvE) experience. The main weapons of choice are the Sabre, for close combat, and the Longbow, with its infinite arrows. In a fight to the death, winner takes all!

On the open sea, it may be preferable to pause steering and switch to the Cannonball. This fiery ball of destruction has a wide explosion radius, but suffers from a three second cooldown. Lastly, the trusty Fishing Rod can reel in more than your typical sea creature... try it in combat!

Some players may be hesitant to engage in PvP, so consider additional incentive through a plugin like [BountyHunters](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/bountyhunters-premium.72142/)! This guarantees an immediate reward alongside any treasures their kill may drop.

If your players prefer Minecraft 1.8 combat, try [OldCombatMechanics](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/oldcombatmechanics-disable-1-9-hit-cooldown.19510/). Need more cooldowns or to prevent players from logging out during a fight? Try [CooldownsX](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/cooldownsx.41981/) and [CombatLogX](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/combatlogx.31689/), respectively.
