Installation
Thanks for considering Sea of Steves, designed for Minecraft 1.20.6 and up! Once you're ready to download, the JAR file will go into your server's /plugins folder.
We recommend using Minecraft 1.21.1 at this time. Read more in the compatibility guide.
Paper
We suggest creating a new world dedicated to Sea of Steves gameplay. Any world management plugin can facilitate this, but using Multiverse-Core will also permit you to automatically reset the world after a configurable number of days. If you decide to incorporate custom terrain using Terra, we suggest that you also specify the generator in your server's bukkit.yml file as a fail-safe.
Once you have a world ready, consider how you would like players to find treasure. Sea of Steves integrates with PhatLoots to dish out treasure when players open any Chest or Barrel. On a fresh install, try /loot gui SampleLoot to edit the default rewards, or create your own loot table to then specify in the Sea of Steves configuration.
By default, players can turn in their treasures to Villagers for arbitrary points. To use an in-game currency instead, install Vault alongside a supported economy plugin.
Folia
As of writing, Folia does not support loading/unloading worlds, so you'll have to use the default world
of your server. If regenerating the world is desired, your choices are to manually delete the world folder or implement this in a restart script of some nature. Terra supports Folia, so just make sure to specify the generator in your server's bukkit.yml file.
